This week's Super Joystiq Podcast accidentally puked in its helmet. The season of huge releases is in full swing. Xav, Ludwig, JC and Richard head up the first segment to talk Halo 4, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, Assassin's Creed 3, Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, and Hotline Miami. Some fare better than others, but the inside of Master Chief's helmet somehow managed to stay mostly clean.

Alexander Sliwinski is the Joystiq Profile this week, and then it's on to news. Alexander, Jordan, and Dave hit the week's big stories. Get ready for discussion on Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm, Nintendo's first US Wii U commercial, Borderlands 2, XCOM Enemy Unknown, the new GTA V release window, Rhode Island's 38 Studios lawsuit, and Kickstarter crossing the pond. Also, be sure to jump past the break to check out this week's giveaway. [SOURCE]

YouTube user PragPD has uploaded soundtrack samples of Assassin's Creed III: Liberation (Winifred Phillips) and Assassin's Creed III (Lorne Balfe) for your listening pleasure. The overall product of both scores sounds, once more, amazing, particularly the main themes for both games (AC3 carries all the usual the Modern Warfare motifs one might be used to hearing from Lorne Balfe as a result of his affiliation with Hans Zimmer). Liberation's approach is quieter, perhaps placing more emphasis on stealth (though it is not without action themes), while Creed III centralizes its motifs on strong preucssion and sinister undertones. From there mere samples alone, both scores sound like must buys from the get go. Be aware that some track listings may contain spoilers.

At the 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo otherwise known as E3 the fate of the Playstation Vita was still in an unsure state. Fans of Sony's newest handheld were hoping that the Sony press conference would show off tons of great new Vita games and show that they had something to look forward to in the handhelds future. The biggest game announced was Assassin's Creed III: Liberation.

Liberation was going to look just like the console version, but instead have a brand new storyline and character to follow. This was a great move for Sony and Ubisoft to get a franchise as popular as Assassin's Creed on the Vita. Still there was a pretty big problem most people noticed with the game's release date. Both Assassin's Creed III and Liberation were coming out on the same day.
